A UNIQUE SOUND FORGED IN THE ASHES OF CONFLICT

Stööl is a rock band founded in West Berlin that rose to fame in the 1980s. The band was formed by four friends, Johannes Müller, Fritz Schumann, Lukas Stein, and Maximilian Schneider, who met as teenagers while graffitiing the Berlin Wall.
Born between 1963 and 1965 in Germany, the four quickly bonded over their shared passion for music. After their first jam session, they decided to form a band, and Stööl was born.

Stööl quickly rose to fame with their unique blend of punk, rock, and German pop. Their music was infused with a rebellious spirit and political themes, reflecting the tumultuous period of the Cold War. In the early days, Stööl would sneak over the wall to play underground warehouses and nightclubs in the surrounding East Berlin neighborhoods, making these four brave musicians heroes in the eyes of communist youth.

In the eighties, the band toured extensively throughout Germany and beyond, performing to sold-out crowds everywhere they went.
Stööl’s music was an important part of the Berlin cultural landscape, and the band’s members became beloved figures for their fans. They eventually disbanded in the late 1980s, but the music of Stööl still resonates with audiences today.

There are rumors of unpromoted shows where the members of Stööl reunite, for one night only.
